I love the customizable basemaps, icons, and other map components available through Mapbox (a custom mapping platform)! Below is an example of a map I made in Mapbox which displays the Inglewood Oil Field and surrounding communities. As part of my practicum internship (which focused on environmental health challenges related to the oil field), I created various educational and outreach materials for my host organization which featured this map.

I also created an ArcGIS StoryMap profiling the landowners of the Inglewood Oil Field, the largest urban oil field in the United States. As urban oil policies in Los Angeles County are rapidly evolving and fiercely contested (see my photo advocacy project or my final internship report for more information), my internship organization requested that this StoryMap remain an internal resource for the time being.
